FREEDOM FROM HUNGER & FOOD SECURITY ADVOCACY

Food security is a fundamental human right. In rural North Karnataka, seasonal drought and systemic poverty make statutory food safety nets vital for survival. JMS campaigns for transparent, corruption-free functioning of the Public Distribution System (PDS) and Anganwadi centers.

We empower rural women to assert their legal rights under the National Food Security Act, combating childhood malnutrition and anemia among Dalit women.

NUTRITION RIGHTS UPDATE

Anganwadi Hot Cooked Meal Monitoring

Community mothers' committees actively inspect 45 village Anganwadi centers to ensure nutritious hot cooked meals, eggs, and take-home rations are delivered consistently without pilferage.

Core Action Pathways

PDS Ration Shop Accountability

Ensuring fair price shops open on time, display stock charts, and provide full monthly grain quotas without biometric denial.

Anganwadi Nutrition Delivery

Monitoring early childhood nutrition, supplementary food quality, and maternal health rations in rural childcare centers.

Mid-Day Meal Equity in Schools

Preventing caste-based discrimination in school meal cooking and distribution, ensuring every child receives healthy nutrition.
